Aspects of Interior Designing
People think that interior designing is just about tossing things together but it is not just it. The concept has many more things and aspects. Basically, interior design is a natural sense of what works well or looks good. However, to obtain it is very necessary that an individual or the company have certain aspects. These aspects include balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, and unity.
Let’s go through the importance of these aspects in the career of an interior designer.
Balance In Interior Designing
Balance is the method that impacts distributing the weight of the room. Basically, it is the aspect that has a major impact on room design. Suppose, if one side of the room is congested in nature then it causes the view to lose balance. The symmetrical balance to view which was created is a traditional concept.
However, in current situations, the radical and asymmetrical designs are implemented for the case where the center is the focal point. While the latter is widely considered for modern designs. therefore, balance is an important feature. however, the balance of the room is categorized in two ways i.e. the symmetrical and Asymmetrical.
Emphasis In Interior Designing
It is very important to identify the accent of the room as it draws most of the attention. It is basically the focal point of the room. However, the interior designer must keep in mind the room can have more than one focal point depending on space.
Movement In Interior Designing
It is the concept that creates two questions in the mind of the designer. Basically, it is the way an individual looks at the room. Firstly, the designer focuses on the furniture of the room i.e. whether it has too much of it or not. Secondly, It focuses on how the eyes naturally move around the room. basically, whether the room is a nice view of the eyes or not.
Proportion In Interior Designing
Have you every felt like the room is crowded while seeing it.
By using oversized furniture in a room that is too small for it can initiate this kind of feeling. This is why considering the proportion of everything inside space is important.
Unity In Interior Designing
The aspect of unity is what ties the entire room together. There are cases that an interior designer uses repetition in colors or patterns for the goal of not creating a chaotic design; too many competing elements can become distracting and messy.
Elements of Interior Designing
There are various factors and elements that should be considered. These elements include Colour, Form, Light, Line, Pattern, Texture, and Space. These all are the concept which has a huge impact on designing a space. Let’s understand the insight of these elements.
The element which is colour is not just the aesthetic choice but it is more than that. This element has the power to influence the entire mood of an individual as well as the feeling of the space. It not only influences the visual preference of the individual. This concept displays the energy and attitude which an individual is trying to cultivate while selecting a colour.
It is basically the term which is for shape. this element includes the contour of any artwork, furniture, or 3D imagination. In the concept of interior designing, there are two types of forms. Firstly, the organic forms which are natural and irregular with curvy or abstract shapes. Secondly, geometric forms which are feature sharps, man-made lines, edges such as squares, rectangles.
Quality of light is an important and basic element to any space. However, the source of light can be both natural, man-made, or the combination of two. Therefore, while opting for the lighting in a particular space the designer should always consider the factors such as the intensity of light, the colour of light, or whether the light is dimmable or not.
The line is basically the perimeter around the form of the shape. However, these lines can be vertical and horizontal in nature. Horizontal lines create a feeling of security while vertical ones is expressive and bold. However, the line which is dynamic in nature have their own set of rule and can be made exciting when used strategically.
Patterns are the repetition of forms, lines, or other designs. These patterns pop up on wallpapers or fabrics but can appear anywhere in the home. Basically, Patterns help in adding life to a particular space.
The texture is basically the way in which the object feels. the designer must carefully consider textures especially for parts that will come in frequent contact such as flooring.
Space is at the heart of virtually every design decision. It is classified in two forms i.e. 2-D and 3-D space. 2-D spaces account for the length and weight of the room. However, 3-D spaces account for the height of the room.
All these elements and aspects should be considered while designing a particular space or while selecting the concept of interior designing as a career.
